Regional climate change snapshots

Summary of research

Climate change is having different impacts across NSW. These climate change snapshots were published by the NSW Government in 2024, and outline climate projections for different NSW regions. They provide a summary of plausible future climate change in NSW relative to a baseline of average climate from 1990–2009. The projections for 2050 represent averaged data for 2040–2059 and projections for 2090 represent averaged data for 2080–2099.

This information is based on NARCliM2.0 projections from 2024, and can help people understand how their region is likely to be impacted by climate change. For planners and decision makers, these snapshots can help inform decisions about future developments and policies to make sure they consider local climate change risks.
