Summary of research
Climate change is expected to increase bushfire risk across most parts of NSW. However, the exact impacts are uncertain, as climate change has different affects on the key bushfire factors: the presence of fuel, drying out of fuel, weather conditions and ignition sources. This research provides information on how climate change is likely to affect bushfire factors, and the impacts on people and the environment. This information can be used by decision makers, planners and researchers to inform safer decisions around management, land use and planning to mitigate bushfire risks.
