About the Climate Data Portal Software

The Climate Data Portal is based on open source software developed by the Climate Model Downscaling Data for Impacts Research (CliMDDIR) project undertaken by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science. The project developed software to allow researchers examining the potential impacts of climate change to easily access data generated by climate model simulations.

The CliMDDIR project was funded by the Australian National Data Service (ANDS). ANDS is a consortium that aims to transform unmanaged scientific data so that Australian researchers can easily publish, discover, access and use research data. It is supported by the Australian Government through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy Program and the Education Investment Fund (EIF) Super Science Initiative.

The CliMDDIR project team worked closely with researchers at the New South Wales Government Department of Primary Industries, Macquarie University, the University of New South Wales and the Western Sydney University.
